JEBA Health and Fitness Disclaimer

Last updated: 26 July 2026

JEBA provides exercise-bike timers, workout presets, custom workout tools, ride records and related fitness features. Please read this disclaimer before using JEBA or beginning a workout.

1. General information only

JEBA provides general health and fitness information. It is not a medical service and does not provide:

  • Medical advice
  • Medical diagnosis or treatment
  • Physiotherapy or rehabilitation
  • Personal training
  • Individual health assessments
  • Emergency assistance

JEBA’s workouts, prompts, targets, statistics and other content are not tailored to your individual medical history or physical condition.

Nothing provided by JEBA should replace advice from a doctor, physiotherapist or other appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

2. Check that exercise is appropriate for you

You are responsible for deciding whether you are physically able to participate in exercise.

Speak to a qualified healthcare professional before using JEBA if:

  • You have a medical condition
  • You have an injury or are recovering from surgery
  • You are pregnant or have recently given birth
  • You have been advised to restrict physical activity
  • You experience recurring pain, dizziness, fainting or breathlessness
  • You have concerns about your heart, circulation, joints or mobility
  • You are beginning exercise after a long period of inactivity
  • You are unsure whether an exercise-bike workout is suitable for you

Always follow medical advice specific to your circumstances.

3. Stop exercising if you feel unwell

Stop exercising immediately if you experience symptoms including:

  • Chest pain, pressure, tightness or unusual discomfort
  • Dizziness, light-headedness or faintness
  • Severe or unusual shortness of breath
  • An irregular, unusually fast or pounding heartbeat
  • Sudden or severe pain
  • Loss of coordination
  • Nausea or feeling unexpectedly unwell
  • Any other symptom that causes concern

Seek appropriate medical assistance if symptoms are severe, do not improve promptly with rest or you are otherwise concerned.

Call 999 in the United Kingdom if you believe you may be experiencing a medical emergency.

Do not begin a workout when you feel unwell, have a fever or have been advised to rest.

4. Exercise at an appropriate level

JEBA cannot determine a safe speed, resistance or workout intensity for you.

Choose a pace and resistance appropriate to your experience, fitness and condition. You should normally be able to maintain control of the bike and breathe comfortably.

Slow down, reduce the resistance, pause or stop whenever necessary. You are never required to follow a timer prompt if doing so feels unsafe or inappropriate.

Workout labels such as “HIIT”, “endurance”, “low impact”, “pedal fast” and “recovery” are general descriptions. They are not personalised intensity prescriptions.

5. Use your equipment safely

Before starting a ride:

  • Read and follow the exercise-bike manufacturer’s instructions
  • Check that the bike is stable and in safe working condition
  • Adjust the seat and other settings appropriately
  • Keep the area around the bike clear
  • Position your device safely
  • Keep charging cables and other objects away from moving parts
  • Wear suitable clothing and footwear
  • Keep water within safe reach
  • Avoid distractions that could affect your balance or control

JEBA does not manufacture, inspect or control your exercise bike and is not responsible for maintaining it.

Stop using equipment that appears damaged, unstable or unsafe.

6. Supervision and accessibility

JEBA does not monitor you while you exercise and cannot detect an injury, emergency or unsafe technique.

If you may need assistance, consider exercising where another person is nearby. Make appropriate adjustments for mobility, vision, hearing or other accessibility needs.

Using focus mode, screen wake lock or audio prompts does not provide supervision or guarantee that every prompt will be displayed or heard.

7. Timer and technology limitations

JEBA’s timer is intended as a general workout aid. Its operation may be affected by:

  • Browser or operating-system behaviour
  • Device sleep or power-saving settings
  • Internet or connection interruptions
  • Audio restrictions
  • Background tabs or applications
  • Device performance
  • Software errors

Always pay attention to how you feel rather than relying solely on the timer.

JEBA does not currently measure resistance, speed, cadence, heart rate, calories or medical indicators unless a feature expressly states otherwise. Any estimated statistics should be treated as approximate.

8. Presets, custom workouts and shared content

JEBA workout presets are general examples and may not be suitable for everyone.

Custom workouts are configured by the user. You are responsible for reviewing their durations, rounds and intensity before starting.

If JEBA later allows workouts or advice to be shared by community members, that content may not have been created or reviewed by a qualified professional. Consider the source carefully and do not follow content that appears unsafe or unsuitable.

JEBA may remove content that appears dangerous, misleading or inconsistent with its community rules.

9. Younger users

JEBA is intended for people aged 16 and over.

Users under 18 should obtain permission from a parent or guardian before using JEBA or beginning a new exercise programme.

10. Personal responsibility

You remain responsible for:

  • Choosing whether to exercise
  • Selecting an appropriate workout
  • Setting your bike safely
  • Controlling your speed and resistance
  • Monitoring how you feel
  • Pausing or stopping when necessary
  • Seeking professional advice where appropriate

Participation in physical activity involves some inherent risk. Following this disclaimer does not remove every risk associated with exercise.

11. Legal rights and responsibility

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or restricts:

  • Liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • Liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Your statutory consumer rights
  • Any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted

JEBA is not responsible for injury, loss or damage caused solely by unsafe equipment, failure to follow equipment instructions, disregard of medical advice, or use of the service in a manner that JEBA could not reasonably anticipate or control.

Any question about legal responsibility will be considered according to the applicable law and the specific circumstances.

12. Changes to this disclaimer

We may update this disclaimer as JEBA’s features and services change. The latest version will be published on the JEBA website with its updated date.
